- 1/2 cup sourdough starter: $0.10
- 2 tbsp flour: $negligible
- 1 egg: $0.50
- 1/8th tsp baking powder: $negligible
- 1 tbsp butter: $0.15
- Total: $0.75, per serve: $0.37
I used this recipe from the ZeroWasteChef for the pancakes, and then added a dollop of yoghurt and some stewed apricots. Tricky to calculate the price of the toppings though, as the apricots were free, and the yoghurt was homemade (I will eventually get around to do the maths on the yoghurt).
I think I might pick up some egg replacer for this sort of baking. It’s probably not as good for me as real eggs, but I’d get the equivalent of 66 eggs from a box that costs $3.50, so 5c each, which would drop the price to about 15c per serve.
